Having already made significant investment into The Liberty, Redical are fully committed to further enhancement of the shopping centre and are now working with development partner HUB to elevate The Liberty even further and ensure it achieves its true potential.
Our proposals will include a series of new gateways to The Liberty, improved public realm, retail, and homes.
Project Update
Thank you to everyone who participated in the consultation on our plans for The Liberty.
Your feedback across the public exhibitions, pop ups and meetings helped us develop our detailed proposals which we submitted as a planning application to Havering Council earlier this year.
The Opportunity
The Romford Masterplan, adopted by Havering Council, sets out a bold and comprehensive vision for Romford Town Centre – placing The Liberty at its heart. Working within this context, our proposals to create a vibrant and thriving destination for eating, socialising and living will be key to realising that vision.
The challenges we want to address
We want our proposals to help modernise and address some of the current challenges facing the site such as lack of green spaces, limited pedestrian access, hidden gateway entrances and a need for more modern sustainability and biodiversity features.
Working with retailers and market traders
The retailers at The Liberty and the surrounding market traders are at the heart of Romford’s town centre— bringing energy, character and a vital sense of community to our high street. As we look to the future, we’re committed to working closely with every business to ensure that The Liberty continues to be a place where retail can grow and thrive.
